In this week’s show, I will be focusing on the bullying epidemic in our society.

I will explain that those who bully were bullied as children. But the bullied child is too frightened to verbalize to his/her abuser. This means that our scared, weak, helpless and angry feelings get shoved under our emotional rugs. Since these feelings can't be kept down forever, we up releasing our pain by depositing it onto others. Parents dump their pain onto their helpless children or spouses. And children dump their pent up pain on weaker siblings or schoolmates.

I will also reveal the link between marital distress and bullying. I explain that many parents unite against the enemy and gang up on their children in an unconscious attempt to solidify a marital bond that’s fraying.

The ultimate solution to end the epidemic of bullying is for all of us to have the strength to take ownership of our feelings of weakness, hurt, sadness and anger, and work them through, rather than dump our pain onto others.
